Hi,
Can you please try the following.
1. Delete the existing print queues.
2. Re-configure the queue using "hp-setup" from the terminal.
3. Download and install the required plugin when prompted. This device require plug-in to perform Print operation.
If the problem persists, post us the output of "lsusb -v" from the teminal.
Thanks for using HPLIP.
Thanks and Regards,
Srikanth Lokare

Thanks Srikanth
I hope I did as requested
There are changes in printer state now.
Idle - Unable to locate printer "NP1738793354". or
Idle - /usr/lib/
Processing - Waiting for printer to become available.or
depending which version of the same printer I select.
As you can probably see I've got it installed three ways .

Hi David,
Thanks you very much for providing the requested logs. From the Log I can see that Mass Storage is enabled on your printer.
If you disable this feature on device, your device will be detected in Linux. To disable this you should have a windows machine and can follow the below steps.
1. Download the Full Driver for Windows from www.hp.com or http://
2. Run the exe, extract it to a folder.
3. Go to extracted folder/UTIL directory 4. Connect your device.
5. Run SIUtility.exe and follow the wizard to disable the feature.
After disabling this feature USB should work. Please follow steps from comment#2 after disabling smart install.
Thanks and Regards,
Srikanth Lokare
