HPLIP

cant install hp deskjet 3050a

I am having real problems trying to install my printer 3050a I have downloaded the HPLIP and when I double click on it the box is empty it really shouldnt be this difficult, the last adviser's answer was too complicated to understand surely there is a straight forward way to install this printer

Sanjay when I download the run file do I save it or open it and what with?

Sanjay I am still struggling with this and getting nowhere it is not helpful to tell me to follow instructions when I have already told you I am finding that difficult surely there must be an easy way to install this printer!

can you please give me someone else to help as I found the last person really unhelpful I am still trying to install my printer when I download I am asked what what I want to open the file with. Do I save it or just open it will somebody please HELP ME and not just email me saying that I need to follow the instruction this is not helpful
