Install problem with MAKE

Asked by David Vincent-Jones

Running Mint 12 32 bit.

Everything appears correct up until the 'make' command:
I am not root

david@david-desktop ~ $ cd ~/Desktop/hplip-3.12.4
david@david-desktop ~/Desktop/hplip-3.12.4 $ make
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
david@david-desktop ~/Desktop/hplip-3.12.4 $

All preliminaries have been installed.

There appears to be hplip materials that were installed with the Mint package .. should they be removed?

Help would be appreciated. thanks;

David

Hi David,

 Please follow the steps mentioned in the link http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/linuxmint.html to setup HPLIP.

You are missing some steps. Before running 'make', you need to run './configure --prefix=/usr'.

Can you help with this problem?
