hp deskjet 3420 via samba

Asked by Wim Vanweersch

Hello,

I use UBUNTU 7.10 and installed my HP Deskjet 3420 via the HP printtool.
Installation went good: HP Printtool recognized my printer which is connected by usb to a Win XP Home machine.
So from UBUNTU I have to print by network.
Problem: after I sent a print, I can hear the printer is doing a lot, except at the end printing!
On my UBUNTU machine I see that the print has been sent correctly an on the Win machine there is my print in the queu. Waiting and waiting and waiting, but it cannot be printed. It's even impossible to cancel it!

Thanks for your answer.

Wim.

Wim,

Sorry hplip doesn't support printing over samba or printing to a shared windows system. Although if you search http://ubuntuforums.org or search the web for something like "http://www.google.com/search?q=printing+from+ubuntu+to+windows&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=com.ubuntu:en-US:official&client=firefox-a"

you may find something that will answer this.

Sorry I could help more.
