Hi,

  Please download the driver i.e hplip-3.11.12.run file from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html and follow the instructions mentioned in the link.

P1108 is not yet supported in the current driver. It will be supported in the next release hplip-3.12.2 which is happening soon. For the time being, you can do the following steps to support it.

 1. Go to the folder where you have downloaded hplip-3.11.12.run (May be in ~/Downloads).
   $ cd ~/Downloads
 2. Go inside the folder hplip-3.11.12
   $ cd hplip-3.11.12
 3. Open data/models/models.dat file
   $ gedit data/models.models.dat
 4. Search section [hp_laserjet_professional_p1102]. In this section only, change p1102 to p1108. So section name should be [hp_laserjet_professional_p1108] and model1=HP Laserjet Professional P1108 Printer.
 Save the file and exit.
 5. $ make
    $ sudo make install
 6. Make the printer ON and connect it to machine via USB or network. Run "hp-setup" and setup the printer.
 7. Once setup is done, you can print.

  Hope it would resolve your query.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. We are eagerly waiting for the release. We have already purchased 35 this model printers and gave purchase order for 50 more without knowing this problem. So please do the needful to solve this problem, otherwise I will be in trouble.

As your instruction I searched for the folder hplip-3.11.12. There is no folder like this. There is only a file called hplip-3.11.12.run

Hi Madhu,

   After you have downloaded the file, run "sh hplip-3.11.12.run" in terminal. Please follow the steps mentioned earlier.
