Can't create a printer with HPLIP and CUPS 1.3.4 and other troubles

1/ I use both Linux distributions Debian unstable and slackware current. Both have CUPS 1.3.4 and I use HPLIP sources (tar.gz) 2.7.10.
2/ No trouble with Debian.
3/ Slackware : No problem using hp-* tools in text mode.
4/ Slackware : With GUI mode, I have trouble to find right ppds and to register printer queue in cups.
Usage of hp-toolbox (or hp-toolbox -q en) command gives a Window with "no installed hp devices found" message.
Usage of hp-toolbox -q <lang> (lang <> en) shows the defined printers.
In both cases, it is impossible to register a printer. In text mode, it works.
