Fedora 8 x86_64, LaserJet 1020, HPLIP 2.7.10, io/hpmud/musb.c 677: invalid device_status: Connection timed out

NOTE: I solved my original problem after I had typed it up but before I submitted it.
I'm submitting it anyway in case it might help someone else.
The printer works if I download the firmware each time I restart the computer.
I've been using the /usr/bin/hp-toolbox to do this.
ANOTHER QUESTION: If I just place the command "/usr/bin/hp-firmware" in one of the startup scripts should that do the trick?
Thanks again.

Hello,
Clean install of Fedora 8 x86_64. Printer type HP LaserJet 1020.
Installed HPLIP 2.7.10 from tarball yesterday.
Last night printer worked OK. Have the HP Printer Test Page in front of me.
After powering everything down last night and back up today, it won't print.
Made no other changes.
When I try to print test page from the CUPS web page it looks OK with print job info appearing at bottom of web page.
After 6 seconds "printmode mismatch with pen, tray, etc" appears at the top of the web page.
After 30 seconds that message disappears along with the print job info from the bottom of the web page.
Click on the "Show Completed Jobs" button will show the test page as completed.
During this time the printer has not blinked, clicked, printed or made any kind of a sound.

Help! The fact that it worked last night and not now is the real frustrating part.
