Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Hi Y Singh,

HPLIP has disabled parallel port by default. In order to enable it please use following steps.

1) You can down load latest HPLIP 3-11.10 version from from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html and install as mentioned in site (this is preferred but not must)

2) Then run the commands in the terminal
        => cd hplip-3.11.10 ( if hplip-3.11.10.run file is download, same location "hplip-3.11.10" folder would have been created. this could be hplip-3.10.2 if didn't downloaded latest version)
        => ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-pp-build
        => make clean all
        => sudo make install

3) run "hp-setup" command and now parallel port option should have been enabled. select parallel port option (4th option).

Thanks & regards,
Amarnath
