when trying to download the driver from the default server, error code 2 appears: "Plug-in file does not match its digital signature"

Asked by Ueli Straumann

I use hp-setup Version 3.11.5

The program finds my printer CM 1312nfi correctly (connectted through local network)

In "Driver pug-in installation, when trying to download the driver from the default server, error code 2 appears: "Plug-in file does not match its digital signature", "File may have been corrupted or altered.".

I have SUSE linux 11 . Firewall disabled.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue. Please install latest release of hplip (hplip-3.11.10) from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/downloads.html.

Once HPLIP is installed you can install HP Plugin as mentioned below.

=>Open terminal and then run following command

  su - -c "hp-plugin"

       or

hp-setup (and follow all on screen instructions. It will ask for plugin download)

Thanks,
Sanjay

FYI:

The latest HPLIP 3.11.10 release as ready-made RPMs for
various openSUSE and Suse Linux Enterprise versions
is also available via the "Printing" project in the openSUSE
build service for 32-bit i586 and 64-bit x86_64 architecture.

E.g. from this direct URL:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Printing/openSUSE_11.4/
as packages "hplip", "hplip-hpijs", and "hplip-sane".

Also read
