Can't print with HP 750 and Kubuntu

Asked by Eduardo

Hello,

I'm trying to install a HP 750 PCS in my Kubuntu 7.04 OS. The
printer is recognized by the System, however the printer was not
listed in the available printers drivers. So I downloaded the PPD
file. The problem is that when I print the test page or try to print a
document, for example an Open Office doc, the job status gets always
stoped and nothing is printed.

Does anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Best regards to all,
Eduardo Catarino

If you are using gusty hplip should work fine. you shouldn't need to download any ppds or anything. You could try removing hplip and installing from source. The auto installer works great with ubuntu.

Dear Aaron,

I installed the new version of KUbuntu (7.10, I was using 7.04)
and the problem was immediately solved.

Thanks for all the help, we can consider this question closed.

Best regards,
