HP Linux Imaging and Printing

a lpq says PDF1 is not ready -- test page prints jiberish

A test page prints the following jiberish

I strongly believe that I installed the driver properly. I am
running Ubuntu Linux version 11.0.4
And I am attempting to set up an HP OfficeJet 4500

please help

What I did to solve was to completely delete the printer software on my
ubuntu 11.0.4, and then reinstall again.(At least I hope I completely deleted.)
This seems to have done the trick becuse I am printing again. I should have
guessed that I would need to do so. I had installed the printer driver,
and THEN updated my OS to 11.0.4.)
