HP Printer Laserjet P1007 Driver installation issue in UBUNTU OS

HI,

I have installed Ubuntu OS Version 11.04 in my system and i am having HP Laserjet P1007 Model printer and i have a driver cd also but it is not compatible with Ubuntu and also i have installed HPLIP in my system and that too is not working th
ere are issues in downloading plug-in and if i download hplip-3.11.1-plugin.run manually and install a message is popping up like "The download of digital signature file failed" and it is giving two options
YES to continue anyway and NO and it is not working in both ways i cannot install the plug in what to do.

If i install the plug in it is giving error like plug in installation failed from HP Device Manager.

Please give me any suggestion how can i install and use my printer in UBUNTU 11.04.

Please tell me if there is any off line installer available because in on line there is lot of issues in installation.

Hi Rajesh,

  Download the latest hplip-3.11.10 from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html and install it using "sh hplip-3.11.10.run" in commandline. Connect the printer via USB. Run "hp-setup" and it will ask for a plugin file to download and install. Once setup is done, you can print.

Let us know if you have any issue.

i cannot download the hplip-3.11.10.run file from the link posted i think that file is about 21 MB and the download is disconnecting in middle please give me any direct link for downloading the latest version of hplip

HI i have downloaded the hplip-3.11.10.run and installed successfully everything except one thing i dont know what ppd file should select. I am using HP LASER-JET 1007 Printer and i searched the list of ppd files shows there is no file refering to my printer. Please tell me which file i should select for my printer.

Hi Rajesh,

Go to source directory where you installed HPLIP (e.g. ~/Downloads/hplip-3.11.10/), go to ppd/hpcups folder.

select hp-laserjet_p1007.ppd.gz file.
