HP-Plugin Corrupt or Not Available

Asked by Adam St. Amant

Good Day,

When trying to setup my HP LaserJet 100 Color MFP M175nw I can get to the part where it tries to download the binary plugin but then it returns this error:

The printer you are trying to setup requires a binary driver plug-in and it failed to install.
Please check your internet connection and try again.
Visit http://hplipopensource.com for more infomation.

or this error:

ERROR: Plug-in file does not match its digital signature.
File may have been corrupted or altered.
Error code: 2

The first error occurs when running hp-setup when clicking next from step 2. The second error occurs when downloading the file using hp-plugin which points here to retrieve the plugin:
http://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins/hplip-3.11.7-plugin.run

I have tried uninstalling and re-insalling a few different ways with no success. It looks as if the plugin is only available from one place and it provides me with the errors above.

I am running Kubuntu 11.04, 64 bit.

Any help finding this plugin so I can use the printer would be appreciated,

-Adam

Hi Adam,

As http://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins/hplip-3.11.7-plugin.run site is down due some reasons. Please download the plugin from this alternate site http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/plugin_download.html and follow the steps as given in the site. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath
