IO Error

Asked by Mark Izyk

Hello, I am running Opensuse 11.4. When i try to install my deskjet 3050 as a wireless printer, it discovers it but when i click continue all I get is IO error check USB cable. I have tried 3 cables but get the same problem.. I also had this problem in fedora but in Ubuntu it works with no issue, any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and as a USB printer it works fine, just can not get it setup as wireless.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for using HPLIP.
If you know the wireless IP address of the printer. please follow the below steps:-
During hp-setup,
1) please select 2nd option "Network/Ethernet/Wireless network"
2) Enter IP Address under "Show Advanced options"-->"Manual Discovery" and follow navigation.

If you don't know the wireless IP Address, needs to get the IP Address using any windows machine.

Thanks & Regards,
Amarnath
