hp-plugin needs a wired network connection

It does not detect mobile broadband or wireless network in ubuntu 10.04. Hence the propreitary plugin is not downloadable from a wireless broadband connection which needs to be rectified asap.

download the plugin for your particular version of ubuntu from
http://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins

and install it using sudo hp-setup --give the path of the downloaded plugin.run

e.g. for ubuntu 10.04 the correct plugin version is 3.10.2
http://www.openprinting.org/download/printdriver/auxfiles/HP/plugins/hplip-3.10.2-plugin.run

Hi,

Please follow the below steps to install plugin.
1. Login as root user
    $sudo su
2. Now run "hp-plugin"
    $hp-plugin -g > output.txt.

If the problem still persists, please post the content of output.txt here.
