Printer which needs the proprietary plug-in works only with the "hp" backend, not with standard backends like "smb"

Asked by wribeiro

No way to access a printer, shared by Windows Server, from computer with Linux.

HP LaserJet Professional M1132 installed and shared on Windows Server 2008. The printer is accessible from any computer running Windows on the network.
On Ubuntu 10.10, running HP-SETUP 3.11.3, printer is not found. Using CUPS Web Interface 1.4.4, or system-config-printer 1.2.3, printer is installed and seems to be Ok.
But when I try to print, there is an error message "printer requires a binary plugin", even id hp-plugin is installed.

Please, disregard this question. My intention was actually a bug report, what I will do soon.
