HPLIP

scan error using laserjet M1212nf MFP printer on Ubuntu 10.04

Using hplip 3.10.6. When I scan with xsane -- and other programs -- I get this error-message:

open of device hpaio:/usb/HP_LaserJet_Professional_M1212nf_MFP?serial=000000000QJ20LHBPR1a failed: Error during device I/O

Any thoughts re: what I need to do?

Hi DanielGoldin,

Make sure that you have document to be scanned loaded in the ADF, If you are scanning through ADF. Please let me know.

I have tried it both ways -- flatbed and ADF -- and get the same error.

Hi DanielGoldin,

We also tried the same here. It is a intermittent behavior. However this issue gets fixed in the upcoming HPLIP release. Will let you know once it is done.

I am also seeing this bug, with HPLIP 3.10.9 and Ubuntu 10.04. I am connecting to the device via ethernet - don't have a usb cable around to try that.

Can you help with this problem?
