The printer is now printing well but i can not scan anything as it said "Not scanner detected".

hello.. currently using ubuntu 10.04 with hplip 3.10.9 printer works great, scanner not detected.

"No scanners were identified" is listed when scanimage -L

I have this all-in-one printer (HP DeskJet 2050 All-in-One J510).
With the latest hplip version (3.11.1) scan works!

I'm using Debian Wheezy. I found hplip 3.11.1 in "experimental" repository.

I am trying to get the same printer work unsuccessfully under Xubuntu, everything seems to be O.K. till I want to print, usually I get message to go to System>Administration>Print from main menu and to enable policy,however, Xubuntu does not offer this option.Some people like Actionparsnip and Clive Parker offer solutions that do not work with my machine since the printer is recognised but not queue is possible; can anybody really help?
