HP p1005 does not print ubuntu lucid 64bits

Hi folks, I installed HPLIP from regular repositories but printer is not working.
It was recognized but when I try to print the test page, it does not print.

Running hp-check -r

I tried to install the required plug-in with hp-toolbox but it simply don't print.
How can I install the correct plugin ?

PS: This installation is an upgrade from 8.04 (In 8.04 printer was working perfectly)

Hi Josir,

Please try configuring the device using "hp-setup -g" and post the complete log here.

Hi, I'm having a very similar problem to the above, with an HP LaserJet 3020. It's actually a multi-function device (laser printer / scanner / copier) but no fax.

It was working fine under Hardy Heron 8.04 64bit. I just upgraded to Lucid 10.04 64bit and it no longer works. It searches and installs the printer when the USB cable is plugged in, but nothing prints.

Here is the log I get when running hp-setup -g (note: there's also a photosmart 7150 printer installed, which is working fine):

What happens on the actual screen when running hp-setup is:
- I get the Device Discovery screen, select USB and click Next
- It displays my two HP printers. I select the HP LaserJet 3020 and click Next
- It hangs for about 5 seconds then produces an error dialog window displaying: "Unable to communicate with the device. Please check the device and try again."
