HP OfficeJet 5605z, HP Jetdirect 175x extern and HPLIP

Asked by Norbert

Hello,
I use an AIO-Printer HP OfficeJet 5605z connected over HP Jetdirect 175x extern USB to Ethernet print server to print using Ubuntu Karmic Koala and everything works fine. Printing, scanning and fax work without any problem. Great. Thank you.
But.
But I am forced for several reasons still to maintain Windows 7 on a second partition of my HP notebook and all I can get to work is the printing feature. There is no scanning and no fax support
How can I install HP software so it supports all of the features of my printer?
Is there a similar software package like HPLIP for Windows users?
HPLIP proves, that it is not an issue of the hardware but only of Windows drivers.
Best regards,
Norbert

Thanks for your effort and help.
It does not solve my problem but I understand: If you are forced to use windows than you also have to pay the price for not working products.
