Our HP 8500 is not connected to a computer, being used as printer only. How can I set it to print with black ink cartridge only (grayscale)?

Asked by Janis P

Again, our printer is not connected to a computer, Our Hp 8500 is being used as a printer only. I want to print in grayscale only, most of the time. How can I set the default for this? I do not want the black copies to use the cyan, yellow and magenta.

Just press the colour copy button on the printer's control panel.

You are speaking of the color copy button on the control panel by the b;ack copy button on the control panel, correct? That was not really my question. My question was ot how to print in color, I know how to do that. MY question is how to I get the printer to print only using black ink to make black instead of using black, cyan, yellow and majenta to make black when I press the black print button on the control panel?

Can you help with this problem?
