Is deskjet_f2400_series supported by HPLIP 3.9.8 or not?

Asked by Johannes Meixner

According to
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/models/deskjet_aio/deskjet_f2400_series.html
the "Minimum HPLIP version" for "deskjet_f2400_series" devices
is 3.9.10 but openSUSE 11.2 provides version 3.9.8
so that it seems openSUSE 11.2 does not support it.

But in contrast on http://hplipopensource.com
I clicked "Download HPLIP" and answered the question as
if I had a Deskjet f2410 all-in-one for openSUSE 11.2
and got this information:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation Wizard
You have selected SUSE Linux 11.2 using
the HP Deskjet f2410 All-in-one Printer.

SUSE Linux 11.2 supplies HPLIP 3.9.8
and it does support your printer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

But in reality according to
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=580217
the "hp" backend in HPLIP 3.9.8 does not detect
a "Deskjet F2400 series" device which seems to
indicate that actually HPLIP 3.9.8 does not support it.

Therefore my question:
What is the right support status for deskjet_f2400_series
devices in HPLIP 3.9.8?

Printer model is supported from 3.9.10 onwards.

It seems to display wrong information. :( I've added the same to our task list. Same shall get fixed.

Thanks for highlighting the issue!
