printer not printing correctly

Asked by JOHN CANNON

printer says it is printing, but it only prints the header and then stops. I have printed up status, it prints complete, it also prints the HP network configuration page. That report shows that it is offline. I have tried everything that I know how and cannot resolve the problem. The second part of the configuration report shows: 802.3 wired and shows link configuration; None. I need help to get the printer functioning.

IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ANSWER TO MY PROBLEM? IF SO, YOU WERE UNSUCCESSFUL, I DO NOT KNOW ANY MORE THAN I DID WHEN I STARTED. I AM A NEOPHYTE ON THE COMPUTER, I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THAT I KNOW HOW, INCLUDING DISCONNECTING MY PRINTER AND RE CONNECTING, THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. WHEN I TRY TO PRINT, THE SIGNAL GOES THROUGH, THE PRINTER SAYS IT IS PRINTING, AND IT PRINTS THE HEADER LINE, THEN STOPS. WHEN I PRINT THE TEST REPORT, IT PRINTS ALL THE WAY. I NEED TO HAVE AN EXPLAINATION OF WHAT TO DO TO GET MY PRINTER TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY. THE ABOVE INFORMATION TELLS ME ABSOLUTELY NOTHING USEFUL IN RESOLVING MY PROBLEM.

Hi John,

Which Operating system are you using? Linux or Windows?

This assistance forum hosted by Launchpad only provides assistance with the HP Linux Imaging and Printing driver. All windows and hardware support is provided by HP Total Care from the HP website www.hp.com.
