Please provide following information to analyse further.

1) Is /tmp directory mounted to tmpfs? run following command.

$ df -h

2) Provide us output of hp-plugin command
$ su -c 'hp-plugin -g'

or

$ sudo hp-plugin -g

3) provide us hp-check command output

$ hp-check
