import of many accounts from quicken = duplicate entries

I am using this app for the first time. I have used an old version of quicken for many years and it still functions.
Exported data in quicken to .QIF file
There are many accounts in the .QIF file and many transactions between accounts included.
I made several attempts to import this into HomeBank but have not been able to get to accurate state.
Using the 'new account' option for each account rather than 'new account (global)' seemed to help a bit.
It appears that any transaction which is a transfer between accounts, is entered twice in both accounts.
So a single transaction appears 4 times.
All transactions between accounts it shows the green/orange icon and does the entry twice in both accounts
In each case shown once with the 'added' icon, and once with both 'added' and 'modified'.

I have a ton of data collected over many years and hoped to import it all but result is a mess.

Am i doing something wrong?

one further comment, during import things look ok as you review the accounts to import, transactions show once for each account imported. but once imported the duplication is seen.

Can you help with this problem?
