Old Homebank Version showing in Repository

Asked by Nick

I am trying to install 5.8.2 from the repository but even after an apt update on debian (Linux Mint) I get "homebank is already the newest version (5.7.4-1build4)"

I added ppa:mdoyen/homebank as described in the documentation.

I am using Linux Mint Wilma

Any idea's?

Thanks

Indeed. I accidentally deleted a few package, and cannot reverted it back.
Since yesterday, you have 5.8.3.

Confirmed, 5.8.3 is now showing in the repository. I can now remove the flatpak and revert to the native version.

How to Install HomeBank 5.8.2 on Linux Mint Debian (Wilma)
Option 1: Download and Install the Debian Package Manually
Since the PPA method doesn’t work, you can manually download the latest .deb package from the official HomeBank releases:

Go to the official Debian package repository for HomeBank:

Download the latest .deb file for your architecture (amd64 for 64-bit systems).

Install it using:

bash
Copy
Edit
sudo dpkg -i homebank_5.8.2-*.deb
sudo apt -f install # Fix any missing dependencies
Option 2: Use Flatpak (Recommended for Easier Updates)
If you don’t want to manually install updates, you can use Flatpak:

First, make sure Flatpak is installed:

bash
Copy
Edit
sudo apt install flatpak
Add the Flathub repository:

bash
Copy
Edit
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
Install HomeBank via Flatpak:

bash
Copy
Edit
flatpak install flathub fr.free.HomeBank
Run HomeBank:

bash
Copy
Edit
flatpak run fr.free.HomeBank
This method will ensure you always have the latest version.
