Why does trying to open the help open Thunderbird instead?

Asked by Silver Knight

Also asked by johbru in question #79487 but not answered by anybody. I am running HomeBank 4.0.2 on Gnome 2.26.1 in Ubuntu Linux 9.04 and when I select "Help > Contents" from the menu, rather than the expected help window, I get Thunderbird. Why?

Can you check what association is made for html files:
find a html file somewhere
select it,
then right click
open the properties
and then the open with tab.
What is the selected application ?

It would appear that HTML files are associated with Mozilla Firefox (firefox-3.5) as I expected. Gnome help files open in the Gnome Help application in every other Gnome program I've tried, however.

I should try with hb 4.0.2, as I'm under ubuntu 9.04 also.
My test was with 4.0.4, and the future 4.1, maybe I have changed something since 4.0.2

I have changed how to open url, and now use a native gtk function. Hope this will fix into 4.1.

Apologies for the EXTREME delay getting back to respond on this. I got distracted this many past months by ongoing personal tragedy, and have only recently been able to get back to any Internet activities. I did check whether I can open the HomeBank help correctly and somewhere along the line it most definitely WAS fixed and opens correctly now for me, just so that you know. Thank you for whatever you did that fixed it. :)
