QIF import scrambles german umlaut

Asked by Udo

When you try to import a QIF file which contains german umlaute (äöü etc.) in names, you will see only X-signs after the import.

The QIF file was exported from MeinGeld2009 (Windows) and looks OK when opened wich gedit (umlaute are shown as expected).

Unfortunately, its mostly not possible to rename the scrambled receiver names as the cursor in the rename input field cannot be moved beyond the X-sign (which is very strange).

Although, I did not found options for encondings during import or so.

Is there any way to import a qif with umlaut? Does HomeBank expect the qif-file in a certain Encoding?

Thanks,
Udo.

You probably use a version < 4.0.4, I have fixed this issue on 4.0.3.
The preferred encoding is UTF-8, but starting v4.0.3, all encoding is permitted

Can you help with this problem?
