CSV conversion tool

Asked by bigdawg1967

I have downloaded my banks transactions in (CSV format). Is there a tool to convert the file into the format that HomeBank uses? In my CSV file, not all colums match up, some have the amount and other data mixed together.

Thanks,
BD

No, I suggest you use a simple tabler to import your csv and reorder data/columns to match HomeBank format.
If you need further help, let me know.

after some searching I found the rules for the csv file in the help

CSV file format

Transaction

 Column list:
 date;mode;info;payee;description;amount;category

 Values:
 date => format should be DD-MM-YY
 mode => from 0=none to 5=personal transfert
 info => a string (16car max.)
 payee => a payee name
 description => a string (32car max.)
 amount => a number with a '.' as decimal seperator, ex: -24.12 or 36.75
 category => a category name

Example:
15-02-04;0;;;Some cash;-40,00;Withdrawal of cash
15-02-04;1;;;Internet DSL;-45,00;In line service/Internet

maybe this is help full for others as well because it took me a while to find it :-)

Thanks, knowing the values will help a lot.

So far HomeBank is awseome and simple enough for me to do my small online business accounting with. After trying everything online and offline for about 18 months you can imagine what a mess I am in. HomeBank is proving perfect for my needs and up to the task of sorting my finances out.

PayPal downloads are causing a nightmare because I cannot download history from PayPal.... PayPal keeps timing out! hence the csv to download what PayPal history I have from tring other accounting software.

Thanks

Mandy
