"Reconciled" transactions are blocked

Asked by Hélène Mornet

Hello everyone,

First of all, it is the very first time I am using this. I used to use a veeeeery old version of Homebank and now that I am having a brand new laptop, I am discovering the last updates.
Second of all, I'll try to be as clear as possible but I am french and not familiar with accountings vocabulary.

My issue is:
I have made several transaction which I declared as "reconciled". Thing is, in the previous versions (probably a long time ago), we could continue modifing them, whatever their statuses (reconciled or others) were. So when I set up my whole new Homebank on my new laptop, I always clicked on "reconciled" even though they were not finished...

What shoud I do to be able to modify the reconciled transactions at anytime ?

Thank you for your help,

Hélène

Hi Hélène,
When editing a transaction that has already been reconciled, you must first unlock the view. When you select the account and prepare to edit transactions in the Editing view where all of the accounts transactions are displayed, notice the little 'slider' at the top left of the screen to the left of the word 'Range'. It has a little padlock symbol to the left of the 'slider' that indicates that the 'Reconciled' transactions are locked. Simply move the slider to the right! You will notice that the padlock symbol changes from Locked to Un-locked. You will also notice that when you select a 'Reconciled' transaction that you can now edit it as before.

Hope this helps. If this solves your problem, then be sure to mark this question as 'SOLVED".

Hi Richard,
Thank you so much for your help!
This locking system is a great idea (when you know how to unlock it), though!
Thank you again!
