Import QIF Bank Data Fails

Asked by Brian M

Hi,

I apologize if this question has already been answered, but I haven't been able to figure out what I am doing wrong.

I have used Homebank for years now and I haven't had an issue importing QIF transactions until April of this year.

Problem: I try to import transactions from QIF file, I select the file from the file picker, Homebank recognizes the file, but the import wizard jumps past "import" to "confirmation". The end result is that no transactions are imported.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. File > Import...
2. Select one QIF file that I exported from Chase Bank
3. Click "Next"
4. Click "Apply"
5. Result = No transactions are imported.

Key Information
1. The file name is ChaseXXXX where XXXX matches the last 4 numbers on my credit card account which matches what is entered into Homebank for that account.
2. Homebank version 5.5.5
3. OS = Windows and Linux (same issue on both)
4. Sample transaction data in my file:

!Type:CCard
C*
D06/17/2022
NN/A
PCompany
T-72.30

Please let me know if there is any more information that I can provide to help troubleshoot. Thanks in advance for any help!

I haven't been able to fix my QIF import, but I did discover that Chase allows the download of QFX files and that import worked perfectly so I am going to go with that.
