Credit Card Payments and Budget

Asked by Robb Zurwell

I have compared all the available Linux Financial Software and HB is truly the closest I have found to my old tried and true QB before they went to a monthly fee model; so thank you for that.

However I have a quandry. I have a budget of 350$ a month for CC payments.

When I make a payment on a CC, I record a transfer of $xxx.xx from Account A to CC B, using the Credit Card Payment / Transfer category.

However the Budget report doesn't show any money paid into the Credit Card Payment / Transfer Category.

I tried posting it as an expense, which did show in the budget, but it didn't show in the CC account as a payment made.
So I made an income entry in my CC Account, but then it negated the expense line, and reset the budget to Zero.

There isn't much information in the "manual" so I hope this can be answered here, somewhere.

Posting this question in the Ubuntu area is completely wrong.
This area is only for Ubuntu-related questions, and not for operating systems that are "based on Ubuntu" like Linux Mint.
Due to the fact that "HomeBank" is mentioned at the very end of the text, I move this question into the area for Homebank.
I hope that is where it belongs

Can you help with this problem?
