deposit paycheck into two different accounts

Asked by Jayne E Gordon

I would like to be able to deposit one paycheck into two different accounts. I can break it into categories but am unable to figure out how to deposit into multiple accounts.

I've encountered this 'issue' too. Only way around it is to create a transaction putting it all one account, then create a 2nd one to transfer the necessary $s to the 2nd one. Or put the $s for the second account into an "[income?] category", then the 2nd transaction as a reverse of that against the 2nd account. Means potentially not being able to exactly match transactions one-for-one in the Homebank account to your bank statement.
Where I've run into this issue is when someone sends me money to pay, say, their board but also to pay off a loan (which I record in a "liability" account i.e. it's not really got a category.
It would be good to be able to include "transfers between accounts" in a split transaction entry but that's not allowed.

Thank you! My husband splits his paycheck between two checking accounts so
I've added separate templates to enter each week. Thanks for getting back
to me.
