Posting scheduled transactions

Asked by Frank Gilmurray

I'm using HomeBank 5.4.2 and my problem is the same as question # 665389. When I 'Post' a scheduled transaction, it doesn't affect the specified account. This happens on both income and expense but it does update the next scheduled date. It appears that the Post worked but the amount in the specified account is unchanged. I too had to manually add the scheduled transactions. BTW it would be nice if there were a way to automate the scheduled transactions.

Thank you, Frank

Please give more precision on this:
'When I 'Post' a scheduled transaction, it doesn't affect the specified account. This happens on both income and expense but it does update the next scheduled date. It appears that the Post worked but the amount in the specified account is unchanged'
=> What do not chnage and where (describe the step you do) ?

BTW it would be nice if there were a way to automate the scheduled transactions.
=> this of course exists, read the doc.

My Homebank has 4 scheduled incomes and 1 scheduled expense. All these
scheduled transactions are monthly and currently there is only 1
account. All the SCHEDULED transactions are listed at the bottom of the
main window when I open Homebank. Also there are 2 FUTURE entries (both
my car payment) and no REMIND entries. When I select a SCHEDULED
transaction, it becomes highlighted and the SKIP, EDIT&POST, and POST
buttons become active. When I click POST or EDIT&POST, the date of the
next SCHEDULED transaction is updated (and the 'maximum post date') but
nothing happens to the account. I've even closed and reopened Homebank
but the account is unchanged. The is no error message or warning. I
tried all 5 scheduled transactions and none of them update the account.
I've verified that the SCHEDULED transactions all specify the right
account (no misspellings). A typical transaction reading down from the
top is:

Income
Amount (a positive number)
Account (the 1 and only account)
Payment: Deposit
Info (blank)
Payee: TIAA
Category: Retirement Income:Pensions & Annuities
Status: none
Memo: Frank's TIAA Annuity

Re automating scheduled transactions, I did read the manual and all saw
re this is Automatic Assignment and Triggering. This was not what I was
talking about. KMyMoney has a box for each transaction to automatically
do it on the specified date.

maybe I can see what you do, please confirm:

you open HomeBank, you get the main window, let's call it A
you open your account in a window (by double clic on the account)
this open a windows B with your transaction list for that account
then you come back on the main window A and post a scheduled txn
it do not appear in the account window B

right ?
