Create budget over transfer transactions

Asked by Julien A.

Hi guys, here is the simple problem I'm trying to solve:
Considering two accounts:
* A bank account
* A savings account
When I want to move money onto my savings account, I'm using a transfer transaction (assuming it is the right way to do it). The category attached to it reflects the transfer is related to a savings transaction (e.g: "Savings").

My goal now is to see how much money I saved for the past year/month/etc... to assess how it met my expectations. I considered using a budget to do so. But budgets are including every created account. As each transfer creates two transactions (each being numerically the opposite to the other), the "budget" line remains to zero. I tried to "exclude from budgets" saving accounts, but it does not solve the issue (savings are taken into account "in a negative way", where it looks like a bad idea to save more than expected). For obvious reasons, I cannot exclude regular bank accounts from the budget either.

An idea here would be to have a per-account budget (probably too heavy for what it brings) but maybe I'm missing a feature Homebank already has that could solve my problem.

Thanks for your help.
