can't find categories

I'm just creating my account. I've set up credit card and bank accounts, but when I add transactions, there are no "categories" listed in the category dialogue box. Is there a standard category file I can import? Or is one installed somewhere but not loading? thank you for your help.

Well When you create a new account it shows you the option of common categories to be included. If you have for any reason unchecked that option. Then the categories will be empty but you can also import a category list from a csv file.

1. Open the Categories Dialog box from the Menu of "Manage" from the toolbar.
2. On the top hand right corner of the dialog box you should see three "..." Dots. You can find the Import from CSV option there.
