imported qif doesn't show all fields in the register

I am trying to import a QIF file containing many accounts. All the data shows correctly during the import process. But in the register the payee is always shown as "imported account" and the categories and memos are missing, although the amounts and balances are correct. This happens with all the accounts, but the payees and categories do appear under "manage" and in the spending graph. What must I do to fix the register?
