Can accounts etc for next year be transfer to new file?

Asked by Derek Redway

I want to create new Homebank .hxb file on Jan 1 2018 with all Accounts plus balances, Categories, Scheduled transaction, etc from 2017 Homebank .hxb on 31 Dec 2017.

2017 .hxb file would then be archived for future reference.

Otherwise I have to manually re-enter all relevant account, Categories, etc details in a new .hxb file.

So you're looking to archive previous years and update the starting balances to those at 1st January 2018?

No, that is not currently possible but it has been requested and the request is outstanding on the wish list.

Is their anyway to delete ALL transaction from an account.

Could I modify .xhb file using HEX editor for example?

Yes you can delete every transaction from an account, but you will also need to input the starting balance as well.
to delete, open an account register, show all transaction (filter)
select all and delete
