Asked by Tony Lourandos

I have also installed the software on an OFF-LINE laptop for security and, after beginning to create bank, payees, categories etc.
I have opened the software to update records since initial and cannot find anything.
There did not appear to be any back up option - am I missing something.........

Tony, after you created your payees and categories a data file would have been created and you would not have been able to close Homebank without seeing a prompt to save your data or discard it. If you discarded the data then it has been lost. If you saved it then your data will be in a file with the extension .xhb. You just need to search for such a file. You didn't say what operating system you are using but using Linux I see a backup file with an extension of .xhb~.

There is no backup option to create dated backups in Homebank. If you want to create such a backup to your working file that you can use if something goes wrong then just save your .xhb file as something else then revert to the original file.

Can you help with this problem?
