Moving from Gnucash to Homebank : QIF data issue

Asked by bedege

Hello

Just discovered Homebank, that is installed on Hercules's ecafé machines. Sounds like a nice soft. Thus I'm considering moving from gnucash (that I've been using for several years) to Homebank, for its nicer look and most of all its faster graph engine.

I have converted my Gnucash file to QIF using Gnucash-to-QIF java tool (http://gnucashtoqif.sourceforge.net) and then imported the QIF file to Homebank 4.0.1 on my xubuntu box. That was easy enough.

However, when I look into the different accounts that I have imported from GnuCash, all transfers from one account to another appear twice. That corrupts the overall balance of my different accounts. I'd rather not have to delete all other transfers by hand...

Has anybody encountered similar behavior ? Does it come from the Java tool or the QIF import in Homebank ? How can I check and correct things ?

Thanks

There is an open bug for that https://bugs.launchpad.net/homebank/+bug/307803

I have just fixed it yesterday, and I will do a HomeBank release quite soon.
If you have compiled from source code and want a patch, let me know.

Thanks for your answer. I found bug 307803 just after filling this question.

I fetched Homebank deb package from getdeb.net and can wait for your new release. Their release cycle looks fast enough. I am not in such a hurry, first have to do some clean up in my gnucash file first !
