When upgrading application from 5.0.9 to any next mayor version, the application terminates at startup

When upgrading application from 5.0.9 to any next mayor version, the application terminates at startup (tested with all next versions). If application installed as blank, the problem did hot happens. Is it necessary to make some steps for transfer data from old version to new version?
