file error, my file is no longer a valid Homebank file

I have the current version 5.1.1 installed and the file I created was with this version. Suddenly, when I open the program it says my file is not a valid Homebank file! It will not open it. I even downloaded a new copy of the program.

I put hours of time into entering bank data - and now its gone???? How can I get it back?? Nothing else has changed with my computer, why won't it open??

open the file with a text editor and post the 1st line here

I tried notepad and a few others but the file opens blank. But it is 91k in size. Whatever is in it is not opening with a conventional text editor.
