Saving in 5.0.9 version.

I just upgraded to the 5.0.9 version from the previous version and noticed that the save button is always grayed out. The prior version, I could save after any updates or right before closing. The new version has the Save button always grayed out. When I upgraded, I just used the XHB file from the previous version. I then updated the transactions from the last file and since I could not save, I just closed it. Today when I opened it, none of the additions were present so I had to redo them. I still cannot save though.

Does it autosave? And if it does, why have a save button that is always grayed out?
