Downgrade from 4.5.5 to 4.4

Asked by Gobo

Hi,

i was using HomeBank v4.5.5 on fedora fc20. I've installed Debian 7 "wheezy" on my new computer and HomeBank is available but only version 4.4.
HomeBank 4.4 can't open file from v4.5.5 so i tried a QIF export. The result is messy (operations are mixed in accounts).

At this point, i got 3 solutions:
1- lost 4 last years and start fresh with year 2015 in HomeBank v4.4
2- find a debian package for v4.5.5 (hope it works on wheezy) -> I found nothing via Google
3- find a tool to convert data file from v4.5.5 to v4.4 (without loss) -> i found nothing

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

after a night sleeping, i found answer to solution 3 and it's pretty simple :-)

So here how i proceed:
1- open data file from v4.5.5 and v4.4 in Geany (or other editor)
2- locate node "property" in v4.5.5, copy attributes "title" and "car_category" to v4.4
3- in v4.4, reorder nodes "account": take a look at v4.5.5 and copy attributes "key", "flags", "pos", "type", "bankname", "initial" and "minimum")
4- in v4.4, delete all other nodes (pay, cat, tag, ope)
5- copy all other nodes (pay, cat, tag, ope) from v4.5.5 and pasto to v4.4
6- save v4.4 data file, open it with HomeBank and enjoy!

an easiest thing was simply to compile homebank 4.6.3 from source code
or use the ubuntu repository
