reconcile accounts

Asked by Andre Engelbrecht

Not sure if launchpad is the correct place to post this, but here goes.

I've set up 3 accounts in homebank.
  Current
  Savings
  Credit Card

Now in my Current account I made a payment to my credit card. I selected "Internal Transfer" as the payment type, selected my credit card account as the destination, and put the rest of the details etc.
Now I thought it would automatically update the Credit Card accounts, and put the entry in there, but it does not. Am I just doing something wrong, or does it not work this way by design?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, launchpad is the correct place!

You seems to proceed the right way to create an internal transfert between 2 accounts.
Normally 2 transaction should be created, one into the source account and the second into the destination account with opposite sign for amount.

I have just check again with v3.5 and v3.6 with no problems doing such action.
Could you test again and check this feature do not work and let me know about the result.

It does not create both transactions for me, but it's possible that function is not available in my version? I'm using the version packaged with Ubuntu 1.10 (Gutsy), which is v3.3.

Oh wait a sec... something funny lol.... somehow it updated the accounts this time. (after I closed and saved the accounts, I noticed the balance changed. And the change was made. I'm not quite sure what I did differently tho lol :P .... but it seems that it's working fine now. I'll keep checking as I use the program.

btw... Thanks for the reply ^_^,
and thanks for the program itself, it's a very nice app to use, and a nice refreshing change from all the other complicated ones. :)

My problem is that by crediting my credit card account from my checking account it shows up as income in my budget. Keep in mind that in my credit card account everything shows up negative (imported that way and kept using it) so every time I add money (payment) it thinks I just got paid. Any thoughts on how to either convert all the numbers to positive ones or anything?
