HoeBank does not import MsMoney-qif-exported files

Asked by Arbiel Perlacremaz

Hi everybody

Everything is said in the title, except the fact that I did export the files from MsMoney, once as strictly Qif compatible files and once as loosely Qif compatible files.

None of those files can be imported into HomeBank.

Thank you for your advice

For your information : I've been able to import my files into GNUCash (MsMoney exports as many qif files as there are accounts), export the GnuCash file into a new qif file (GNUCashToQif exports all accounts into a single qif file), which Homebank has correctly imported.

Sounds like GNUCash already takes into account the malformed files outputted by MS Money then

Not exactly.

GNUCash has been able to import malformed MsMoney-exported qif files. To export back the GNUCash files to qif, I used the GNUCashToQif tool. And then, I've been able to import those CNUCashToQif exported files into Homebank.

It must do if it can import them

This too shall pass. MS Money is no longer sold or updated. I had lots of crashes with it, so changed to Homebank.
Personally, I imported from my bank not Money, which avoided this problem.
