Unclear on how to do reconciliation

I read http://homebank.free.fr/help/03reconcile.html but I'm even more confused on how to do this. Do I fix the difference by adding a fake transaction? Or is there some dialog where I perform this?

No there is no dialog for this: reconcile is manual. If there is a difference, a transaction is missing or hav not be validated.

Meanwhile,
During a reconciliation cycle you can reky on the small icons on each transaction to help you.
I mean, the tra,saction edit, validated icons.
