HIP proxy support

Asked by Lars Laven

Hi,

I understand you removed the support for running hipl as a HIP proxy after 1.04. Was there a reason for that other than the lack of resources? I saw in the HIP-Proxy paper that the throughput was not that great as the author saw it. Was that the reason?

rgds,
Lars

Lack of resources, and we also wanted to improve the code quality by removing more experimental parts.

Please note that you can have HIP proxies at different levels of the stack. It is rather straightforward to have an application-layer proxy for HIP (i.e. a reverse HTTP proxy) like we had here:

http://www.cloudsoftwareprogram.org/rs/2973/6e620c3b-438c-425c-bfcc-a70731023c59/b09/fd/1/filename/1-pid2445077.pdf

We have also tried forward proxies for HTTP:

Can you help with this problem?
