This connection is insecure. Please enable HIP.

Asked by Abinaya

I am a masters student.
I used the hipl/release/1.0.5/livecd to install HIP.
I installed HIP but when i open the "http://crossroads.infrahip.net/" i get the message "This connection is insecure. Please enable HIP".
Should I install any other packages?
How to check the HIP installation?

It appears that people are really fond of releases and perhaps we should do one soon. The last release is really old, so please try the binaries in http://hipl.hiit.fi/index.php?index=download

I tried the binaries in http://hipl.hiit.fi/index.php?index=download for ubuntu.
But i get only 2 packages hipl-daemon and hipl-dnsproxy when i use maverick.
and 4 packages hipl-doc, hipl-firewall, hipl-daemon and hipl-dnsproxy when i use lucid.

My version of ubuntu is ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386
The kernal version is 2.6.31-14-generic

@Miika.

I agree. Maybe we can even do a release before IETF?

@Abinaya: please check bug report #739225. We're current missing some binaries because the virtual machine configuration is incomplete. To avoid waiting for me, you can build your own binaries from the sources (see INSTALL file and use "make bin").

@Tobias: a snapshot release is possible, I am not promising anything because I need to work on a publication. I think the biggest obstacle for a snapshot-style release is the kvm-based virtual machine configuration.
