0.5alpha

Asked by alphaomega

Hello Robert,

the 0.5alpha runs on my THZ 303 SOL after some adjustments (sorry, I do not know how to create a diff for the whole package):

1. serialDevice = /dev/ttyUSB0 (because my heatpump is connected via USB-serial connector, i.e. /dev/ttyS0 does not work for me)
2. newStyleSerialCommunication=False (because heatpump was installed in 2008 (firmware 2.16))
3. oldStyleSerialCommunication_Version_2.06.ini file adjusted to 2.16 (with "sendMails = False")
4. copyCommand = (i.e. blank string after "copyCommand =")
5. thresholdCounters = (i.e. blank string after "thresholdCounters =")

Can you please tell me if during testing I shall look for something specific which is new/ has been changed in 0.5a compared to the previous 0.4 branch 25?

Thanks and kind regards, ao

PS:
The Log is now empty (*) with 0.5alpha, i.e. there are no more messages like "system too slow by x seconds" or "cannot be set into receiving mode" or similar, which I had with your branch 25 version. So your new 0.5alpha seems to be more tolerant of slow systems, which is very nice for me. ;-)
*Well, it only contains the following:
  Starting ...
  Heatpump reports Version 2.16
Using protocol definition from <email address hidden> (testing with THZ 303 SOL currently in progress)
  Up and running

By the way, I like it very much that it is possible to stop "heatpumpMonitor.py", start it again and have a graph without a gap (of course depending on how long I wait until I start the script again, and of course I must not delete the .rrd file in order to "continue" the graphs"). Anyway, this is very convenient.

Thanks a lot and best regards, ao
